What is OpenLoop?
OpenLoop is a digital passport platform that turns local tourism into a gamified adventure. Creators can build interactive trails, and users simply scan a QR code to join. Every check-in unlocks digital stamps, badges, and real-world rewards.
Do my users need to download an app?
No! OpenLoop is built as a Progressive Web App (PWA). Your users simply scan a QR code or tap a link, and the experience loads instantly right in their mobile browser, removing all onboarding friction.
How does pricing work?
We offer simple pricing tiers: Pay As You Go ($25/yr for 1 trail), a Creator tier ($249/yr for 12 publishes + planning), and an Organization tier ($499/yr for 30 publishes + planning). The planning feature allows you to build drafts and plan out your trails ahead of time. Need more than 30 trails? Contact us for custom pricing.
Can I edit a trail after it's published?
To preserve the integrity of user progress, published trails are generally immutable for that given year's edition (e.g., "Awesome Pizza Spots 2025"). You can make fine-tuned adjustments to pin locations (within 500ft) or remove a spot if a business closes, but you cannot add new spots. This ensures that users who are actively working towards a badge don't have the goalposts moved on them.
Can I run paid trails?
Not currently, but we're actively working on it! Soon, you will be able to connect your own Stripe or Square account and offer paid trails (e.g., ticketed bar crawls or exclusive scavenger hunts). Users will pay you directly for access, and we will simply take a small platform fee. We never hold your funds.
How do users find my trails?
Your trails are surfaced through our Global Discovery network. Using smart radial map searching, users opening the OpenLoop app in your city will automatically see your active trails based on their physical proximity, making organic discovery effortless.
Can I restrict how fast someone completes a trail?
Absolutely. For multi-day events or tourism initiatives, you can enable a Daily Check-in Limit. This restricts users to earning a maximum number of stamps per day, encouraging them to book hotel stays and explore your region over a longer period.
Do you offer white-labeling or custom domains?
Yes, we offer a white-label experience where you can run the entire system on a custom subdomain (like myorg.openloop.guide) so that it feels like a seamless extension of your own brand.
